Hi. I'm Crystal Rhine, owner of Wildcat Creek Cattery. I've always had a love for animals. Growing up I pictured myself doing something with animals. Working at a Zoo or pet store. Cats were always my favorite though. The first Maine Coon I've ever seen was in a picture from my daughter's friend about 8 years ago. He was the biggest cat I've ever seen. I grew up with cats but not with Maine Coons! I looked into Maine Coons and was blown away. How have I never heard of this breed before? Everything about them seemed perfect for our family. I took over a year of research of breeding and learning this breed. I finally made the plundge and imported my first 3 Maine coons. They were better than I imagined. I have learned over the years that reading online did not prepare me much for breeding. I have learned more from working with other breeders. I am always reading up and learning as much as I can till this day. For breeding I am picky about my breeders. I've learned that it does matter the parents personality. If they are skittish so are the kittens. We spend a lot of time with our cats and kittens and it didn't seem to make a difference. Any cats that come to us skittish we spay/ neuter. I know bringing in cats they need time to adjust but if we've had them several months to a year and still skittish we will not breed. Our kittens are very affectionate and love their families. They are still a cat and need a few days to adjust before their personality comes through. I love this breed and they are amazing! Not only do I raise these wonderful cats I'm also a stay at home mom. I have 8 beautiful children which have a love for these Maine coons too!
